Andy serves on the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission and is the chair of the Burlington Planning Commission. Congratulations, Andy!
Evan Barquist Achieves Two Speeding Ticket Dismissals
In local speeding cases, the police must prove the speed limit by presenting town ordinances. Attorney Barquist successfully demonstrated that the ordinances presented to the court in two speeding ticket cases were outdated, leading the court to refuse to accept the ordinances as evidence and dismiss both cases.

On February 7th, Attorney Rob Backus will be joining a Ward 6 NPA panel for statewide instant runoff voting (IRV). As a city councilor, Rob formerly sponsored Burlington legislation that created instant runoff voting in Burlington. This legislation has since been repealed. Michelle Mraz will be moderating the panel.

Rory Mandl-Abramson joined Montroll, Backus & Oettinger, P.C., on November 19th as a legal assistant. Rory has a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Vermont, and is interested in pursuing the Law Office Study Program. She is a former horseback riding instructor and has a retired thoroughbred race horse named Seymour.

Andriana Chobot joined Montroll, Backus & Oettinger, P.C., on October 29th as an administrative assistant. Andriana studied Theatre & Music at Bishops University and is a member of a folk-jazz original music trio that is touring in Vermont currently.
